IMPORTANT: Call 911 immediately if you are having an emergency!
The Brooklyn Hospital Center's emergency department is staffed by dedicated emergency medicine physicians, nurses and staff, equipped to provide comprehensive emergency medical services to patients. With over 70,000 visits to our ED in 2015—including 18,000 visits to our dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department—we stand ready to serve you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
New York State Department of Health - Designated Stroke Center
The Brooklyn Hospital Center is an official Stroke Center designated by the New York State Department of Health. We have advanced life-saving equipment and skilled stroke specialists available any hour of the day, every day of the year.
We speak your language.
Our clinical and administrative staff speak most of the languages of our diverse Brooklyn community. A hospital Language Coordinator will be assigned to work with you if no one on our Emergency Department staff speaks your language.
Visitors are welcome.
Visiting hours are 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. However, because treatment areas are small, no more than two visitors may sit with a patient who is receiving care. Friends and family may sit in our waiting area or visit the cafeteria.
