The Brooklyn Hospital Center is a Level II trauma center, equipped to provide comprehensive emergency medical services to patients suffering traumatic injuries. With over 60,000 visits to our Emergency Department ever year—including 20,000 visits to our dedicated Pediatric Section—we stand ready  to serve you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The Brooklyn Hospital Center offers families a fully staffed Pediatric Emergency Department with its own comfortable, child-friendly waiting area.

We speak your language.

Our clinical and administrative staff speak most of the languages of our diverse Brooklyn community. A hospital Language Coordinator will be assigned to work with you if no one on our Emergency Department staff speaks your language.

Visitors are welcome.

Visiting hours are 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. However, because treatment areas are small, no more than two visitors may sit with a patient who is receiving care. Friends and family may sit in our waiting area or visit the cafeteria.

We’re a State-designated Stroke Center.

The Brooklyn Hospital Center is an official Stroke Center designated by the State of New York. We have advanced life-saving equipment and skilled stroke specialists available any hour of the day, every day of the year.
