Infectious Diseases

The Brooklyn Hospital Center has a very active Infectious Diseases Department. Our attending physicians provide consultative services for inpatients with a variety of infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS and unexplained fevers.

We are responsible for the ongoing outpatient care for patients with HIV/AIDS. These individuals are treated at the PATH Center, the Program for AIDS Treatment & Health, located at the hospital center's downtown campus, and on 2222 Church Avenue, Brooklyn.

The PATH Center is a New York State Designated AIDS Center and is recognized as a Center of Excellence by the New York State AIDS Institute.

Patients with infectious diseases may also be seen in the private offices of our attending physicians.
