Thanks to donations from the hospital’s own Director of Engineering, Dennis Bartling, and The Brooklyn Hospital Foundation, kids visiting Pediatric Cardiology will get to choose from a fantastic assortment of art supplies and craft kits.
“We’ve brought the hospital something called an Art Cart, created by Brooklyn-based pop artist Ed Heck,” said Daniela Mendelsohn, Executive Director of ArtWorks, The Naomi Cohain Foundation, which also runs a successful art program for the hospital’s pediatric oncology and hematology patients.
The Art Cart holds a wide variety of art supplies, replenished regularly by ArtWorks personnel.
An ArtWorks bulletin board was also provided, which will soon be filled with artwork created by our young patients, brightening the halls of the hospital and providing an avenue for our children to feel proud of their creation.
“We’re so happy to extend our partnership with The Naomi Cohain Foundation,” said Kristen Riccardelli, the hospital’s Child-Life Specialist. “And of course we’re so grateful to the hospital’s private foundation and Dennis Bartling, who made this gift possible through the Christopher P. Bartling Fund, dedicated in his son’s honor.”
