BROOKLYN, NY-- The La Providencia Family Medicine Center, a community health center operated by The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC), celebrates spring with a family health fair Saturday, April 3rd, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the center’s parking lot, 1280 DeKalb Avenue between Myrtle and Evergreen Avenues. Sponsored by Neighborhood Health Providers (NHP), a provider of the Family Health Plus, Child Health Plus and Medicaid programs that serve the five boroughs, will feature games and face painting for children, refreshments and free blood pressure, dental, cholesterol and glucose screenings. Free workshops include Good Nutrition for the Family; Preventing Hypertension; How to Have a Successful Doctor’s Visit; and HIV/AIDS Prevention; A pharmacist will also be on hand to answer questions about medications.
