The Brooklyn Hospital Center Celebrates the Season with Ballerinas, Basketball Stars, Choirs and More!
December 26, 2018It’s December and, as always, it’s party party at The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC). Staff decorate their units and special visitors do their best to make the hospital a more festive place for all.
Early in the month, Project Sunshine spent time playing with our kids and bareMinerals donated gifts. Shortly after, the Joffrey Ballet bedazzled our pediatric patients with their performance. On December 18, the Harlem Globetrotters kept things spinning and the LIU Athletics Department joined the fun. The 88th NYPD Precinct, represented by Officer Christopher Kinney and Detective Andrene Seargeant, came by to drop off toys they collected.
December 19 was another big day! Brooklyn Nets Super Star shooting guard Treveon Graham and radio personality Angela Yee visited in the early evening. First Calvary Church came by for their annual holiday Christmas singalong and toy drive, too. As if that weren’t enough, the NYPD sent a group of superheroes over to entertain!
“We are very fortunate to have such good friends in the community who come out of their way to bring cheer to our patients and staff alike,” says Gilda Caputo-Hansen, Director of Community Affairs, and the organizer of many of the season’s festivities
