Department of Pediatrics Showcases Two-Way Online Link with NYC Vaccine Registry

    June 20, 2011

Getting children properly vaccinated is one of the single most important things we can do to keep Brooklyn's kids healthy. To make the process more efficient, The Brooklyn Hospital Center recently implemented a two-way link with the New York City Vaccine Registry that helps providers immediately obtain and report immunizations directly to the Registry.

Representatives from the CDC came to our Children's Health Center on Thursday, June 16, to see this two-way link in action.

"The link is connected to our hospital's existing electronic record keeping system, called an Electronic Medical Record," said Dr. Kenneth Bromberg, chair of Pediatrics (pictured third from left).

He added that having instant electronic access is especially important for children seen in multiple facilities and in foster care.
