Highest Quality Rating To Brooklyn Hospital For Its Dialysis Service Center

    June 21, 2016

Brooklyn, NY — The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC) was recently awarded the highest ranking of five stars from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS) for its Rockwell Dialysis Center. It was one of only 13 facilities in the New York region to receive the distinction of a five star rating. Over 5,500 dialysis treatment facilities were rated under the CMS system, with 147 hospitals ranked from the New York City, Long Island and Westchester County areas.

The CMS rating methodology uses nine specific categories to gauge hospital performance and summarize how well the facilities did on measures such as reducing hospitalizations, blood transfusion and deaths, among other concerns. These quality measures are aimed at helping consumers make the best decisions when choosing a care provider, determining quality of care both inside and outside of facilities.

“The Brooklyn Hospital Center is very proud of the care our Rockwell Dialysis Center provides to members of the community and we are thrilled that this care has been recognized with a five-star rating from CMS,” said interim CEO and President Jonathan Weld. “We will continue to offer the best possible services within our Rockwell Dialysis Center and throughout our entire hospital to provide the highest quality care for our patients and the Brooklyn community at-large.”
