New Chair of Pediatrics at The Brooklyn Hospital Center
January 17, 2018The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC) is pleased to welcome back Noah Kondamudi, MD, MBA, FACEP, FAAP, CPE, who recently joined us as Chair, Department of Pediatrics.
We say welcome back because after Dr. Kondamudi completed his medical education in India at the Osmania Medical College in 1980, and his initial residency at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, Dr. Kondamudi came to TBHC in 1993 as the chief resident in pediatrics.
Dr. Kondamudi has four primary goals for his department: 1) create a Center of Excellence for Women’s and Children’s Services with a closer collaboration with TBHC’s Obstetrics, 2) recruit more providers for the Children’s Health Center and better organize its operations, 3) work closely with the Emergency Department team on the upcoming renovation to improve the emergency pediatric experience, and 4) work with community pediatricians to build bridges between their practices and TBHC.
Dr. Kondamudi completed his fellowship training in pediatric emergency medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Montefiore and returned to TBHC as the Division Chief of Pediatric Emergency Medicine in 1996, serving as such for the next 19 years.
In 2015, he joined the New Jersey Medical School, Rutgers University as Interim Chair, Department of Emergency Medicine and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics before returning to Brooklyn.
Dr. Kondamudi also completed an MBA in healthcare management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and is a certified physician executive of the American Association of Physician Executives. He is board certified in both general pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine.
