New Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at The Brooklyn Hospital CenterMarch 20, 2018
The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC) is pleased to announce that Madhavi Reddy, MD, FACG, has been appointed Chief, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. She will also continue as the Fellowship Program Director for the Division of Gastroenterology. Under Dr. Reddy’s leadership as the Fellowship Program Director, the division produced 45 peer-reviewed publications and presented 90 abstracts at national and international meetings.
Dr. Reddy received her medical degree from Kasturba Medical College, in Manipal, India. She completed her internal medicine residency at New York Methodist Hospital, in Brooklyn in 2000, and her gastroenterology fellowship training at TBHC in 2003. After fellowship, Dr. Reddy joined the Division of Gastroenterology at TBHC and has held a variety of leadership roles. She became the Fellowship Program Director in 2016 and stepped into the role of Interim Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 2017. One of her biggest passions is promotion of colon cancer screening and awareness. She is actively involved in colon cancer outreach programs and events to promote colon cancer awareness in the Brooklyn community.
Dr. Reddy is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and an active member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
