TBHC Champions and VisionariesDecember 13, 2018
The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC), one of its leading physician leaders, and one of its excellent nurse managers all figured prominently at the Brooklyn Daily Eagle’s Champions and Visionaries of Healthcare event on December 3, which took place at Dyker Beach Golf Club.
TBHC’s Vasantha Kondamudi, MD, Executive Vice President, Network Physician Executive, was honored for her efforts to help the hospital receive the recent Leapfrog patient safety grade of an “A,” making it the only hospital in Brooklyn and one of only two hospitals in New York City to receive the top grade. Nurse Manager Rosemary Fiore, RN, MSN, was honored for her exceptional bedside manner and her dedication to creating excellent experiences for TBHC’s patients.
According to Eagle publisher Dozier Hasty, a central message of the evening was that no one has to cross over a bridge or go through a tunnel to seek the finest healthcare available. Elected officials, community leaders and honored recipients and representatives from leading Brooklyn hospitals attended the evening networking event that included food, drink and a chance to visit the more than a dozen informative exhibits provided by healthcare representatives, before enjoying the dinner and awards ceremony.
TBHC was an Innovator sponsor of the event. Gary Terrinoni, President and CEO, said at the event, “If you were to ask me who would be the best representative of The Brooklyn Hospital Center now and hopefully in the future it would be those two individuals.”
