The Division of Cardiology offers a dynamic roster of cardiologists, the latest diagnostic and testing equipment available including 3D echocardiography, web-based EKG and a state-of-the-art stress lab, an excellent program of preventive care and follow-up care after a cardiac event, as well as a comprehensive heart failure program. Primary cardiology services are also offered through TBHC’s Family Health Centers and other sites in TBHC’s ambulatory care network.
The cardiology program is backed up by our brand-new cardiac catheterization lab, a collaborative effort with Mount Sinai, offering a full range of cardiac interventions (see below).
Additionally, the Cardiology staff is deeply involved in TBHC’s continuing education program taking part in the training of future physicians, nursing staff and other personnel. The division is also committed to expanding the body of knowledge within the cardiology field. Research projects, both limited to hospital itself and those performed in cooperation with other leading institutions are conducted. Results of our studies have been published in peer-reviewed journals and the media.

A Clinical Partnership in Downtown Brooklyn
TBHC has partnered with Mount Sinai Heart, part of the renowned Mount Sinai Health System, to bring comprehensive cardiac care to downtown Brooklyn. This alliance, built on the foundation of excellent care provided by TBHC’s cardiologists and clinicians, makes it possible for TBHC to offer sophisticated preventive, diagnostic, interventional, and treatment services. The communities of downtown and north central Brooklyn have a significant need for interventional heart care and treatment services. For the nearly one million residents of nearby neighborhoods, the enhancement of TBHC’s cardiology program means local, quality, compassionate heart care — all without crossing a bridge. And, when it comes to excellent heart care, time saved means lives saved.
With the expansion of TBHC’s cardiovascular services under Mount Sinai Heart’s direction, the newly enhanced Brooklyn Heart Center aims to grow TBHC’s already excellent cardiac program into a destination service for Brooklynites.
