The Brooklyn Hospital Center marched in the Brooklyn Pride Parade on Saturday, June 10, 2017 along 5th Ave between Lincoln Place to 9th Street.
The Brooklyn Hospital Center welcomes our LGBTQ friends and allies to join us at the Brooklyn Pride Parade on Saturday, June 10th. Help us in Keeping Brooklyn Healthy by visiting the TBHC Pride table between the hours of 11am-5pm. Wear your most colorful gear and show your Pride!
On Tuesday, May 9 2017, The Brooklyn Hospital Center held their 3rd Annual Community, Corporate and Legislative Breakfast at the Brooklyn Law School, gathering Brooklyn's leaders to talk about "Building Brooklyn's Future" Keynote Speaker Congressman Hakeem Jeffries again graced the stage. While national health care policies are undergoing changes, Congressman Jeffries siad that it is essential that TBHC, the hospital he was born in, receive its fair share of government funding to ensure all residents have access to quality, affordable health care.
“As we are trying to protect health care as we know it, we must pay attention to the fine print of how changes in Washington affect the delivery of medical services to local communities,” Jeffries said. “Health care is not a privilege; it should be a right.”
Brooklyn, Be Good To Your Heart is what The Brooklyn Hospital Center is telling its patients, friends and family. Be good to your heart, know your numbers, eat right, get plenty of exercise, limit your daily sodium intake, drink plenty of water and get your check-ups regularly. The latest 3-D Max in the TBHC Lobby and ED celebrates February Heart Month.
On Thursday, December 1, 2016, Elected Officials spent the morning with Gary Terrinoni, Joan Clark, Leroy Charles and others to discuss The Brooklyn Hospital Center and the importance of accessing funds through the New York State Department of Health Facility Transformation Grant for major capital expenditures. Special guest speaker playwright David Henry Hwang recounted an experience he had in the Emergency Department that demonstrated the dedication of the medical professionals in the ED.
Youth & mentors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City will come together to brighten someone’s day by creating positive, uplifting messages that are attached to flowers and will hand them out to visitors as they enter the lobby of the hospital:

On Thursday, December 15, 2016, Reverend Earl Jones, Sr., Chair, of the Community Advisory Board of The Brooklyn Hospital Center, will lead his Choir from First Calvary Baptist Church, 953 Putnam Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11221 in the Lobby of The Brooklyn Hospital in holiday songs. Each year, Reverend comes to TBHC with gifts to distribute to children who might not otherwise enjoy gifts for the holidays. The signing will take place in the lobby around TBHC's Holiday Tree. Refreshments and cookies will be served. All are in invited.
On December 1, 2016, The Brooklyn Hospital Center will Acknowledge World AIDS Day in the main Campus Hospital Lobby. An Exhibit will display an historical timeline from when the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention first reported and published the first mention of what was later determined to be HIV.
