Building Brooklyn's FutureDate: Tue, 02/07/2017 - 8:45am
On Thursday, December 1, 2016, The Brooklyn Hospital Center hosted a Legislative Breakfast for the local elected officials and community leaders to discuss TBHC's Transformation Vision Plan grant that was submitted in the fall of 2016. The grant was submitted to the New York State Department of Health. Building Brooklyn's Future is a plan that includes capital improvements to assist TBHC to continue to serve Brooklyn’s medically underserved patient population, give residents improved access to local care, and meet the growing health care needs of neighborhoods undergoing tremendous demographic changes and the unprecedented growth in downtown, northern and central Brooklyn. TBHC, the only hospital provider in North Brooklyn, serves a population of approximately 1 million residents. The funds requested through this grant will support critical capital investments including renovation of the emergency department, development of an ambulatory care center, a patient navigation center and improvements to the OBGYN and pediatric department to offer culturally sensitive services.
