    The Brooklyn Hospital Center Earns Best Leapfrog Safety Grade in Brooklyn

    The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC) is proud to announce that they have received a B, the highest grade of all Brooklyn hospitals this spring 2018, for their commitment to keeping patients safe as measured by the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. In fact, no other hospital in New York City received a B, and only one received an A.

    New Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at The Brooklyn Hospital Center

    The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC) is pleased to announce that Madhavi Reddy, MD, FACG, has been appointed Chief, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. She will also continue as the Fellowship Program Director for the Division of Gastroenterology. Under Dr. Reddy’s leadership as the Fellowship Program Director, the division produced 45 peer-reviewed publications and presented 90 abstracts at national and international meetings.

    Physician at The Brooklyn Hospital Center Honored by the 7th Congressional District as a Top Global Woman of Excellence

    Vasantha Kondamudi, MD, Senior Vice President and Chief Quality and Safety Officer for The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC), was named one of the 20 top global women of excellence by the 7th Congressional District’s Multi Ethnic Advisory Task Force. Dr. Kondamudi attended the task force’s International Women’s Day Celebrations on March 8-10, in Elmhurst, IL, and spoke at the Round Table Meet on Women’s Empowerment.

    The Brooklyn Hospital Center Reaches Asian Community Through Inpatient and Outpatient Services

    The Brooklyn Hospital Center recently launched an Asian Services Program to better welcome patients providing an environment that understands and respects their culture. TBHC implemented several facilities and staff protocol changes. Gary G. Terrinoni, TBHC’s President and CEO, says, “We want to ensure that we are doing all we can to promote healing and better health outcomes for all our patients by delivering a patient-friendly, caring and culturally sensitive environment for all.”

    Every morning in TBHC’s Intensive Care Unit James Gasperino, MD, Chair of Medicine, Associate Chief Medical Officer, and Vice President for Critical Care, convenes Morning Report. Here, the hospital’s most experienced intensive care physicians gather with every staff member who plays a role in managing ICU patients — nurses, residents and ancillary services.
