Senior Director of Nursing, Medical-Surgical Services and Nursing Education

TBHC’s medical-surgical units care for adult patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical issues or who are recovering from surgery. Our 105 beds consist of different treatment specialties provided by more than 135 highly trained staff delivering outstanding care.

Our geriatric units are at the center of our customer satisfaction success. “Let’s Talk Thursday” is one of our popular programs, during which family members can come and spend time with loved ones who are in longer treatment regimens, often watching a movie or other live entertainment in the conference room while enjoying a snack together.

7B is our pilot unit for the Patient Experience Project. We are equipped with 10 rehabilitation beds on 8W and received the Certification of Excellence for Bariatric services. Our hospice service delivers compassionate care to the dying and their families. Overall, our medical-surgical units maintain high patient satisfaction scores.

TBHC’s medical-surgical nurses are committed to the hospital’s mission and look forward to continued collaboration with colleagues and staff to improve patient satisfaction and patient safety. One of our goals for 2020 is to bring our Shared Governance committee online so our staff can have a greater voice at the larger TBHC table.
