Dr. Rev. A.R. Bernard, Founding Pastor of Christian Cultural Center and NYPD Chaplain, Keynote Speaker at The Brooklyn Hospital Center’s 2026 Clergy Breakfast

On July 14, The Brooklyn Hospital Center (TBHC) hosted the first of what is planned to be an annual Clergy Breakfast, featuring keynote speaker Dr. Rev. A.R. Bernard, Founding Pastor of Christian Cultural Center and NYPD Chaplain. Dr. Bernard spoke about the need for community and the important role houses of worship play in creating and fostering such community, along with those in law enforcement and healthcare.

Other speakers discussed similar themes and viewed the breakfast as an opportunity to strengthen interfaith connections and collaborations with TBHC. Everyone shared their goal of improving the lives of Brooklynites.

Rev. Kim Council, Deputy Brooklyn Borough President, pledged to offer support to clergy, especially in building maintenance. “Many houses of worship are antique buildings that need extra care and money to maintain,” she said.

Lenny Singletary, TBHC’s Senior Vice President of External Affairs, Strategy & Marketing, hosted the breakfast. “TBHC looks forward to future collaborations that support our community while fostering our commitment to Keeping Brooklyn Healthy,” he said.
