Lee Park Foundation to Award Two Nurses or Clinical Care Staff with the Prestigious Lotus Award and $10,000
The Brooklyn Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce its partnership with Lee Park Foundation in recognizing two nurses or clinical care staff with the prestigious Lotus Award.
Nominees should be currently practicing hospital Nurses, Assistant Patient Care Coordinators, Patient Care Associates, or Surgical Technicians.
The Lotus Award for Nursing and Clinical Care was created by Lee Park Foundation in loving memory of Dr. Jang Ho Lee, who passed away in October 2022. Dr. Lee lived his entire life practicing Buddhist doctrine and guided many people in meditation and Buddhist teaching. He earned a PhD in Asian medicine, specializing in herbal science and acupuncture, and treated many patients until the last days of his life.
His family was struck by the kindness, selflessness, love, and concern that members of his medical team exhibited in the final days of his life. In gratitude for their service – and for the service of all those who help others out of the goodness of their hearts – the Lotus Awards were created to lift up shining examples of service to others and the community.
With the Lotus Award, each awardee will receive $10,000.
Anyone – including patients, family members of patients, and colleagues – may nominate currently practicing nurses or clinical care staff at The Brooklyn Hospital Center who embody the spirit of the Lotus Award through compassion, resilience, and selflessness. Nominations will be considered until September 16, 2026, and final selections will be made and announced on October 14, 2026.
To nominate a nurse or clinical care staff member, please fill out and submit the nomination form.
