Dr. Nelson joined The Brooklyn Hospital Center after serving as Director of the Acute Care for the Elders (ACE) Unit and a Teaching Attending at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn for 13 years. She received her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Westbury, Connecticut. She completed her internal medicine residency and geriatric fellowship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. Previous to that, Dr. Nelson earned her RN degree in England and worked as a head nurse at Wyckoff Heights Hospital. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from St. John’s University in Queens. Dr. Nelson is board-certified in geriatrics.
