Syed F. Haider, MD, is an Endocrine and General Surgeon who treats patients with both benign and malignant conditions of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands.

Dr. Haider immigrated to New York from Pakistan in 2007 and completed his medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. He completed his general surgery residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and NYU Grossman School of Medicine, and his fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at Yale University School of Medicine.

“What drew me to endocrine surgery was how intersectional it is,” he says. “The collaborative discussions alongside endocrinologists, radiologists and pathologists pulled me in. The field encourages innovation with a healthy mix of open, robotic and minimally invasive techniques.”

Besides clinical interest, Dr. Haider's research interests include surgery workforce development and career pathways, clinical outcomes in thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery, innovation in post-operative management, and disparities in access to minimally invasive care. Dr. Haider has authored nearly 40 peer-reviewed publications and delivered more than 36 poster and oral presentations at national conferences including the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the American Surgical Congress, SAGES, and the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons.
