The Brooklyn Heart Center at TBHC has grown to provide a broad range of comprehensive cardiac services. For nearly one million residents, TBHC is a lifesaver and its services include:

Emergency Heart Care
Having a hospital close by that offers heart-attack services allows patients in cardiac emergencies to get fast care without traveling far. With heart emergencies, time saved equals lives saved. Recent statistics show that TBHC patients save even more time because our “door-to-balloon” performance is speedy. According to the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology, the recommended time from a first medical contact to cardiac intervention such as a balloon stent is 90 minutes or less. TBHC consistently does much better than that, regularly besting the New York State percentages. Under a collaborative partnership with Mount Sinai Heart, TBHC has a cardiac catheterization lab that offers:

• Emergency percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI)
• Diagnostic catheterizations
• Diagnostic angiography, peripheral angiography and implantable loop recorder services
• EP lab for ablations for arrhythmia and device implantations

Outpatient Cardiology
TBHC has long provided outpatient cardiology care at several locations, as well as diagnostic tests at the main hospital, including:

• Echocardiography
• Treadmill stress test
• Nuclear stress test
• Cardioversion

Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) Clinic
This service follows CHF patients who require consistent monitoring of their care.

Cardiac Telemetry (8B)
A 34-bed telemetry inpatient unit with dedicated cardiology nurses provides an important monitored environment for those cardiac patients requiring hospitalization.
