The Brooklyn Heart Center at TBHC has grown to provide a broader range of comprehensive cardiac services, including:
Cardiology Catheterization Lab
Under a collaborative partnership with Mount Sinai Heart, TBHC’s lab offers:
- Diagnostic catheterizations
- Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI)
- Diagnostic angiography, peripheral angiography and implantable loop recorder services
- EP lab for ablations for arrhythmia and device implantations
Outpatient Cardiology
TBHC has long provided outpatient cardiology care to our Ambulatory Care Center and though our network of neighborhood Family Health Centers. In 2020, cardiology opened a doctor’s practice in the brand-new Physician Pavilion, located at 86 Saint Felix Street in Fort Greene. The building, with its modern décor, state-of-the-art exam rooms and beautiful views is a favorite with patients. Services include:
- Echocardiography
- Treadmill stress test
- Nuclear stress test
- Cardioversion
Excellent Heart-Attack Care
For nearly 1 million residents, The Brooklyn Hospital Center is a lifesaver. Having a hospital close by that offers PCI services allows patients in cardiac emergencies to get fast care without traveling far. With heart emergencies, time saved equals lives saved. Recent statistics show that TBHC patients save even more time because our “door-to-balloon” performance is speedy. According to the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology, the recommended time from a first medical contact to cardiac intervention in minutes is 90 minutes or less. TBHC consistently does much better than that, regularly besting the New York State percentages.
Congestive Heart Failure Clinic
A service provided to these CHF patients who require consistent monitoring of their care.
Cardiac Telemetry (8B)
A brand-new, 34-bed telemetry unit with dedicated cardiology nurses provides an important monitored environment for those cardiac patients requiring hospitalization.
