At The Brooklyn Hospital Center and Kofinas Fertility Group, our mission is to provide excellent, innovative, personalized care in reproductive medicine, and this fellowship was built with that same philosophy in mind. We aim to train physicians who will practice with skill and compassion, and always remain committed to ongoing growth — clinicians who blend technical expertise and scientific rigor with a genuine dedication to their patients.

What distinguishes our program is the combination of high-volume clinical and surgical exposure, close faculty mentorship and a training environment that bridges academic scholarship with deep roots in the community we serve. We emphasize progressive responsibility, so that each fellow graduates prepared to practice independently and contribute meaningfully to the field.

We look forward to welcoming you.

OVERVIEW

The Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship at The Brooklyn Hospital Center is a three-year training program designed to prepare physicians for leadership roles in reproductive medicine through academic scholarship and clinical innovation. The program integrates high-volume clinical training, advanced assisted reproductive technology (ART), robust research opportunities and dedicated faculty mentorship into a comprehensive educational experience.

Fellows train in a collaborative academic environment that emphasizes individualized learning, progressive responsibility and the development of strong clinical judgment. The program is structured to ensure broad exposure to the diagnosis and management of complex reproductive endocrine disorders, infertility and advanced fertility treatments across a diverse New York City patient population — an environment that enhances fellows' ability to deliver patient-centered, culturally competent care.

Clinical training includes extensive hands-on experience through direct mentorship with faculty at the Kofinas Fertility Group, a high-volume ART center known for its expertise in complex infertility care. Fellows gain comprehensive experience in ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilization (IVF), fertility preservation, recurrent pregnancy loss evaluation and the management of conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome, diminished ovarian reserve and endometriosis. Training also includes ultrasound-guided interventions and reproductive laboratory interpretation, as well as advanced laparoscopic and reproductive surgery, including laparoscopic myomectomy and surgical treatment of severe endometriosis.

The program places equal emphasis on research and scholarly development. Fellows participate in a structured research curriculum with invaluable access to a robust research infrastructure and experienced investigator mentorship. Opportunities to design and conduct clinical and translational research projects are afforded, and participation in national meetings, manuscript preparation and presentation of scholarly work is strongly encouraged throughout the fellowship.

Upon completion, graduates will be well prepared for independent practice in both academic and private settings, equipped with the clinical expertise, research foundation and leadership skills to advance the field of reproductive medicine.
